Have an old couch from circa 1930, redone in the 60's and now entrusted to my care. I'm a novice!
The coil springs in the seat are still "coily" but after tying them (8-point) covering with burlap and a layer of poly the seast is so soft I all but disappear when I sit on it.
Are these old sofas usually that way? I even tried retying the springs at about 2/3 height; no change.
